Family matters
McLaughlin, John: Of Rydal and Sodwalls, married Margaret Morgan in 1876. Carmel Healy: Seeking to contact Carmel or her relatives. In 1954 she was a nursing sister at Royal Adelaide Hospital. Her parents, Vincent Charles Healy and Mary Ann Healy (nee Hilder) lived in Anzac Parade, Maroubra Junction. Marina Listwan: Seeking Marina who is the daughter of Dr Ignacy and Wiska Listwan. She married James (surname unknown) in 1979 and has a son called Alexander. Stephen Schmideg, (03) 9578 0093.
Crawford: Seeking descendants of Dr Mervyn Archdale Nott Crawford, who married Emily Sophia Burk (spelling unconfirmed). Son Raymond was born February 12, 1857, and married Evy Kempe 1883. Newton: Charles Henry Newton was born 1870 in Newcastle, Staffordshire, and married Sarah Ann Hughes (nee Genders) in 1888 at Chesterton, Staffordshire. They arrived in NSW with son Robert in 1889. They had two more children, Sarah Ann Newton, born 1890 at Lithgow, and Charles Henry Newton, born 1892 in the Vale Of Clwydd. Sarah Ann m. Harold P. Evans, in 1916 at Marrickville, and had a son, Rodney Harold Evans, born 1917. He married Mary Patricia Lawson at Rockdale in 1940. Seeking any information or descendants. William (Billy) Lyons and Richard Tonkin: William Lyons, born May 14, 1949, was ex-air force, discharged in the Manly area, 1972. Richard Tonkin, born September 4, 1948, had a sister Valerie and brother Robert and their father was a stationmaster at Woodford. Treloar family reunion: Descendants and families invited to an international reunion to be held Sunday, October 31, at Auburn Botanic Gardens (private picnic area). The reunion will also mark he release of Treloar History (1522-2004), the updated book of Treloar genealogy first published in 1962, which contains 16 generations of Treloars and 850 pages of information and pictures. Naval Auxiliary Patrol: I am researching an oral history about the Naval Auxiliary Patrol on Sydney Harbour (1941-44) and would be interested to receive any information about people, memories, papers, photographs or surviving boats that served in the NAP in the defence of Sydney during World War II. John Rae (1813-1900): Was Sydney's first full-time town clerk (1843-1853), and also served as commissioner for railways (1861-1876) and undersecretary for public works (1861-1889). He was also an author, poet and painter. Any material which might assist in completing his biography would be much appreciated. Some private papers were left to his children and may still be held by his descendants. Copies only are required.
